Hi, the gear stick & handbrake gaiters on my 53 Discovery 2 are looking a bit shabby, the black coating has worn off most of them, just showing the gray material underneath.

I've seen loads for sale on the net, especially Ebay, does anyone have any recommendations on these, I know quite often this stuff tends to be generic and the fit isn't great ?

Thanks

I got a set off of ebay , fit was very good, just take your tie with the glueing.

There was a write up on here a while ago aboout how to do it.

I think these were the ones I got, same supplier, but ad has changed.

Well worth it, makes a big difference to the look of the cabin.

Cheers

I got leather ones from ebay cheap as chips, much better than the shabby originals and easy to fit as long as you take your time with the glueing.

Got to agree with the above posts.
The gear stick and the T-Box lever are similar. Just be careful with the glueing phase of the job. They don't give you much slack to work with.
I couldn't break the glue holding the handbrake lever handle but I found that with some very careful cutting of the stitching I was able to pull the new gaiter over the handle then get it all sorted out with the rubber o-ring and the Evo-stik.

I bought a set off Ebay a few weeks ago. I used double sided tape on the main gear lever. Will do the same with the transfer lever. Far less fiddly than glue.

Handbrake i'm conscious is a bit more involved so need to do that one when i dont need to drive the car that day to allow the new handbrake glue to set!!
