my defender 90 (1991) is stuck on the driveway in third and I can't get a gear.
A little history, I have not had any probs with my gearchange despite 103K miles, however,on saturday morning whilst driving to town i noticed that my clutch pedal wasn't going down as far as normal and as i drove it became increasingly dificult to select a gear (any gear, up or down)
anyway I got home by staying in 3rd.
After a browse on varouse forums it was
sugested that it was a slave cylinder problem,
I changed this and bled the ststem but it is still the same, the pedal will go down all the way when the bleed valve is open but only half way when it is closed. Any ideas?

ah reckon yer fork arm's had it.
thas a gearbox out jobbie I'm afraid.

others may have a diffrunt opinion.....

was just about to say the same thing, it isnt half as bad a job doing the clutch as you might first think

might as well replace the hole clutch while yer in there
and fit a reinforced fork arm.

Seans rite! Tekkin gearboxis out o Landys is fun and edjumucashunal. So long as yer dun't ave to do it twice in as meny weeks... Then it becomes a bit of a chore.

but the moer often you do it the faster you get at it

but i cant ever see it being a limpic sport

what about the control bearing that comes directly to the gear lever? once in my car it get a washer loosen and I couldn't change gears...
