Hi all,

I have just rebuilt my S3 gear box;

*Whilst driving*
The reverse, 3rd & 4th gear work fine, however 1st & 2nd gear is very stiff. I have put on a new 1st & 2nd synchro and 1st & 2nd synchro rings, it'll go into gear, but it takes some force;

So, does it just needs wearing in??
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

It's this on the bench, or driving?

When I did mine I recall a needle bearing in a housing that was easy to damage when inserting the gearbox shafts
As in post above try removing top cover to inspect/ test

loosen the top off and let you know, cheers
