Help anyone!!
Its me again £700 clutch change. Its been a week now since my clutch was changed and my paranoia is justified.
last chance to take the kids somewhere, pre-journey checks
the usual oil especially oil as the garage has to renew the oil warning wires I noticed hanging down after they ripped them from the plug to the sensor. I noticed two plastic tubes one tucked on top of clutch housing the other open up by the bulkhead, tracing it down to the front diff I noticed a plug missing from the gear box bottom approx 1/2" diameter that I could put my little finger right in, it has to be the Gear box oil drain plug hole.
Since the clutch change I've done approx 500 miles (mostly motorway) would there be any damage to the gear box?

Third person this week I have seen asking this :p

The gearbox drain plug is on the side of the case, by the front props exit from the transfer case, not on the bell housing, the bell housing should not hold any oil.

The wading plug (which is what I think you are refering to) is a few inches behind the engine sump plug on the gearbox bell housing. Only fit this plug if you are planning to do some wading, then remove it when you are finished, you dont want stuff building up in there.
