Down Under Drover

G'Day from Western Australia!

I am a Landy loony from as far back as I care to remember.

I live in a remote part of Western Australia, with some of Aussies best off roading literally on our doorstep.

Presently driving a restored 1982 109" SIII County Wagon (12 seater), a leafer and genuine County - haven't seen any others like it out here. It has a small County script decal on each rear panel, and one on the back. Has cloth high backed seats in the front and is fully trimmed. (5-brg 2.25 petrol)

Also run an '82 V8 Stage-1, which does all the hard work around the place. Planning on giving it a re-birth next year!!

Also have - 1948 80" - undergoing a resto, and a couple of others in various states of repair!!

Would LOVE a Defender, but the bank balance won't stretch to it! well, that and having 3 young kiddies, 2 Landy-mad girls 7 and 5 and a wee Lad who is 4 months old.

Anyway, I'll be popping into LZ fairly regularly as you all seem like a great bunch, and are similarly afflicted to m'self with Greenovalitis.

Ooroo,

Not quite!! - I'm out West, we're 2 hours behind the Eastern States, although its a dark as the proverbial. presently 19:12. Just finished washing the County down after a beach trek. Drove for 16km through some horribly soft / deep sand. Out of the 3 vehicles to set off, We were the only one to get through!!. That left a brand new $80,000 Toyota Landcruiser and a Cheap Cherokee, whooops sorry...Jeep Cherokee bogged to the belly plates!! - I did warn 'em!!!!

Cheers
Kris

I remember driving down Muriwai beach on the west coast of NZ in a Nissan Terrano. It really didnt like the soft sand at all and really struggled with it. It overheated several times and we kept having to stop to let it cool off!
