hello there,i am in the middle of upgrading my td5 turbocharger to a garrett gt2256v vnt.has anyone done it just struggling with the actuator positioning any help or pics wood be very helpful thanks steve.:confused:
 
Sorry Bud, can't help you. But I do have a 2.8TGV with a VNT and it's superb!!! Just grunts from 800rpm - quite difficult to feel the turbo "kick in" as it's there all of the time. Hope yours is just as good.

How much did you pay for the turbo?

hello pal,gave £120 for the turbo.just sorted the problem made a new bracket that fits underneath the turbo,on with the oil pipes now will put pics in my album thanks for your reply.:clap2:
 
hello guys well progress on the new gt2256v upgrade on my td5 disco is getting there.turbo is now in place and pipe up,just waiting for the down pipe now cheers.
 
hello guys well the td5 is up and running now very sweet and spooling nice.got another map to put on it now with let you no.
 
Did you have to up grade any oil feeds etc

hi yes,the return just needed an inch welding on it,i had the top feed made,now looking at the induction side ss pipe work into a hks filter that's sit under the front grill will pop pics wen done thanks.stephen.

well guys the td5 is running perfect spools up very nice all through the rev range,still on the old map as yet.will get it remapped to suit the turbo and go from there.then tweak it,will let ya no how it goes on cheers.stephen.

From which vehicle is the new turbo? I know it is a GT2256V but different source vehicles might probably mean different flanges. did you find one which fit the stock exhaust manifold and down pipe?>
