Hi there,

I am looking at getting all my cappings, windscreen frame etc all galvanised. Can anyone recommend anybody in Scotland? I stay down in the Borders but work in Edinburgh.

Don't have any experience of galvanisers as such, but these guys might be worth having a chat with....

Most of the others tend to be near Aberdeen or north of Inverness.

That's who we use! They collect all the way to Newcastle to!! And they are quality ! Some galv companies your stuff comes back covered in scabs

Minimum charge normally of 60 quid! Depends if they need blasted or not! We pay 60p per kg but get tonnes done at a time

Do people normally get the roof glittering done as well? I don't fancy drilling out all these rivets and then having to re do them all by hand.
I was thinking of just painting the roof gutter the same colour as the roof.

Get as !uch as you can done! You will only regret it!! Remember
its only steel that can galvanise !! Seen a few people send aluminium before . drilling rivits is a doddle and putting them in is actually quite therapeutic!!! You will only wish you had!! Half a days work! That's all your going to loose

Yeah I know that. My mate was an aircraft engineer so is very good at rivets.
