Morning, so the new galvanised chassis arrived yesterday... the question is leave it or paint it? What’s the opinion?

Def paint it, hides the fact its got a nice new shiny chassis to potential thief's and protects it further extending its life even further

Our road salt reduces the lifespan of galvanised items, I've painted mine for @apeers reason as well

I used POR15 but ive heard good things about Buzzweld chassis paint

+1 for the no paint, I think it looks great once the new shine weathers off. I can see how vehicles could be a thief magnet in a high crime area though.
While you have the chassis bare, get a set of stamps and stamp the VIN number on a few areas that will be inaccessible with a grinder once you have built the vehicle up.

Be wary of stamping the old chassis number, it will be looked upon a cloning, it may also damage the galvanising

no paint till the galvanised coat showing signs of being past it sacrificial state ,I won't be around when that happens .only shiny till it weathers why attack it with t wash and other chemical DOE

I used black waxoyl on my galvanised chassis, and the rest of the underside and steering linkages etc. It protects the rubber bits as well and stops then cracking. Track rod end dust covers etc.

Mines painted with Buzzweld. So far so good. It isn't quite black. I don't mind that. It's hard as nails.

There is a buzzweld Galvanised metal primer called T wash but I would recommend you email Craig Jones at Buzzweld.co.uk - theres also a good facebook group with plenty of info.

My chassis is done inside and out although not new like yours - very good product.

I asked a similar question on here a few weeks ago but mine wasn't about whether to paint or how to prep but instead about personal experience of the various types of paint available.

In the end I decided on chassis-clean, T-wash, etch primer and Frosts Extreme Satin Chassis Black.
Whole underside will then be Waxoyled as per normal.
