Looking for some inspiration for some internal gadgets for my motor. I love all the mad switches and laptops etc that people have in there motors. Mr Noisy had a fair few in his build thread!

So far I have a series of 12V sockets in the front for various kit for shooting, allows me to have the lamp in and the spare battery for the lamp charging if we walk a field and my sat nav etc plugged in at the same time.

I have done the rear door mod and added a fold down table.

I have also changed the interior bulbs to LED off Ebay for a couple of quid, made a huge difference to the internal really lit it up.

Thinking of spurring an LED strip on a switch off the boot light and having that above the door to come on only when needed.

Looking for other gadgety ideas and links to purchase them, might help others as well!

Lights are always good and usefull lol , what about one off thos level indicators ? That do pitch and roll?

I have a TV in mine - yep, real live TV! Kids get to watch CBeebies in car parks while waiting for SWMBO to do the shopping - means I get a relatively peaceful nap for the time she's busy :)

At the moment it is hooked in temporary...

Power via supplied ciggy lighter plug thingy. TV signal via supplied magnetic aeriel that I plonk on the roof out of the door or window.

When I get chance it'll be wired in via a switch on the dash and the aeriel will be out through a hole drilled and filled in the roof or out through the bulkhead and up the window channelling.

How the aeriel is placed has an effect on the signal you get, as does where you are with regard general signal strength. It also takes a feed from a USB hard drive which is loaded with films, cartoons, music and pictures.

Can also plug other stuff in like camcorder etc as it came with a load of various inputs.

I don't regard them as " gadgets" as such.

I've replaced the interior lights with LEDs - lights up like Blackpool now! I've also fitted another accessory socket just inside the back door, wired in parallel with the one just behind the middle row seats.

Built my own version of the LR spotlight controller using small relays and installed it under the dashboard behind the drop down cover below the steering wheel and the official LR switch up on the binnacle.

The other visible gadgets I've fitted is a digital voltmeter onto the front of the coin tray whist still maintaining the original use.

The invisible additions include a FM modulator wired into the radio aerial and an alternator whine filter to supply power to my smartphone so that I can use it as an mp3 player. Those are all fitted behind the drop down cover too.

pitch things are good , they have a function and they light up and look cool...who cares if it's useful :p , recently got one for £3 from a scrap yard, and there was a big gaping hole in my interier , where one of them is ment to be installed ... it had to go in

car pcs with touch screen are pretty cool to , you can operate everything from them . lights, sound system , but i have a galaxy s4 which does everything i could want from a car gadget , mounted on the windscreen,.

Can it swim?

Door edge and puddle lights (option on some D1s) plus 48 SMD LED panels in the two overhead interior lamps and a 24 LED panel in the boot lamp then there's my high level LED strip brake light rescued from a Volvo V70 which is cool as the LEDs are clear but turn them on and they illuminate red.

LED DRL still to fit :)

Reckon mine is psychic, it has some nice bits which have evolved while I wasn't looking. Best example is the air con, which didn't work, so the bugger developed some tasty little ventilation slots in the floor to keep me nice and cool :D

Want to know what all these bits are his put pictures of.

Anyway i have LED strip in the centre with centre switch. Also standard switches etc for lights externally. Also have a reversing camera which is the MUSTARD!!! When its pitch black it lights the rear up perfectly for reversing. Standard aftermarket sterio with AUX port.

Any gadgets anyone recommends which they couldnt live without?

Even if those switches do nothing they look cool. What are they for down the pillar?

DVD Player. Also feeds front screen.

Ignition switched battery gauges for main and aux batteries. The black switches give a direct feed so that no voltage drop is measured once the ignition is switched on. LED lit.

Inner and outer temp gauges, actually aquarium thermometers. The probe below the bottom one is the sensor for the lower/interior. Cheap as chips but great to have. Sadly, not illuminated.
