I've been lurking for a while - this is a great board and I'd be grateful for your expert thoughts.

I'm looking for some driving lamps for my 2003 Defender 90 XS. I got a set of the Safari 5000 lamps on ebay, but I'm not convinced they look right, and I'm thinking of putting them straight back up on ebay!

So... I'm now looking at the G4 clear lamps (part number VUB500890) - http://www.thegearshop.co.uk/index.cfm?fa=shopdetails&Product_ID=485

Anybody got a set of these? What are they like? And more importantly, anyone know who makes them? I don't really want to spend £272 (!) official price so would be keen to get hold of oem versions.

Hi i might have a second hand pair of these in my box at work,from memory the only thing wrong is the fixing bolts might need replacing,will have a look monday, maybe arrange a price if interested they genuine oem,tiga

Anybody else got any experience of these lamps?

Just to let you know - I bought a set of these clear driving lamps in the end, and very nice they are too. Much nicer than the Safari 5000s, and they seem brighter, too.
