All,
I have finally managed to get the passenger to go camping. She has succumbed to the idea of "glamping".
To this end I reckoned that if I got a pair of roofbars a futon base type thing would double up as a rack. Then stow the mattress rolled on top all safari/adventure like.
Thing is I've never seen a futon base in the flesh or used one. Reckon it's no more than a few pallets cobbled together.
Should I go on Dragons den? Has anyone any thoughts on the idea?:)

Send her to the Holiday Inn for the weekend and **** orf on your own with a tent and a sleeping bag?

Got the same issue with my passenger. She wants to go "glamping". Got fed up in the end and bought a cheap bell tent off the net and she was all," oh that,s very ideal homes".Started getting her own kit together, all very "ideal homes".
Long and the short is I get to go camping now, so there is a "karma"type message in there somewhere if its any help.

Waffle air bed - keeps out the ground chill, nice and comfy, packs away really small, just don't over inflate em.

homebase got some 2 man 6 piece tents fer a tenner if anyones intrested sod all to do wi futons n roof bars but chips as fook all the same

burst me bubble why dont ya ere i wuz finkin id stumbled across a bargain no one else but little me knew about :D :D (was £29.99 lol with bags n matress anorl)

Ah, now theres the problem right there.....(somewhere above)
Our bed will be in the be-stoved living area. We will have to assemble it once the kiddiwinks have retired to Bedfordshire. Hence some need for a bedroll type do-dah.
I fancy one of those 2' deep inflatable jobs but it would have to go somewhere during the day (kayaking?) or have to deflate it and inflate it every day (much like the ego.)
So I was thinking there must be some way of achieving this (discounting shoving it in one of the boys rooms in case they need to retreat (apparently!)

tried storing some against the wall and on the hedge.them on the hedge got punctured and the others blew away on a windy day
