Hello

Is there anyone here that managed to fiddle about a full hood to a 107" series 1? There are obviously 2 inches difference between the 107 and 109 but I am not sure where these two inches are. Does anyone have an idea if its possible to use sticks and hood from a 109 and modify?
Thank you from Sweden.

The extra two inches on the 109" is at the front . The front axle was moved forward to accommodate the new diesel , it does not affect anything passed the bulkhead .

The hood sticks will be the same for a 107" and a109", although as neither of them were sold with a full length canvas roof you are going to have to do some modifying of hood sticks . The canvas roof itself will have to be a bespoke item as there are none to be had off the shelf .

This is assuming that I have understood your questions correctly . The company I would use , and have used for the canvas on my 107" tray back , is Undercover Covers in Birmingham. They understand all things canvas and would be able to make you one .

If you do put a full tilt onto your Series One I should be interested in seeing some photos of what it looks like.

You should also ask your questions here.....http://www.lrsoc.com/forum/index.php, as there are many people there more knowledgeable than me who could help you . There are also quite a few Series One owners in Sweden who you might be able to get in touch with .

Hope this helps .

Thank you! I just had a look at Exmoor trims webside and they have 109 full canvas hoods there. I have already written to undercover covers, lets see what they say. With a little bit of luck a 109 hood fits!

Now I am really confused . Ex moor Trim do not have 109" full canvas hoods for Series One 109"s( or if they do I couldn't find them). They do have 109" full canvas hoods for Series Two and Three 109"s . They are not interchangeable as they are different sizes completely . As I said before a full hood for a 107" is a special bespoke item and I can only think of seeing one 107" with one , in a magazine .

This is the only photo I have and even that isn't very helpful.

My mistake. Of course it was a series 2. But whats the difference between 1 and 2 hoodwise? The sides are probably longer but is the length the same, or?
Rupert does seem to live in another climate than The swedish. The text in a similiar swedish magazine would be ”Magnus made the top removable, in case the weather is steady some time”

I am not really able to tell you the difference between Series One and Series Two hoods as I have never been in a position to compare them . But as the rear tub of the Series Ones are very different to the Series Twos I think trying to adapt one would be more trouble than it is worth . That is why I suggest trying Undercover Covers . I am pretty sure that if you were to ask your question on the Series One Club forum someone will know the answer .

As a side note , at some point I am hoping to get Undercover Covers to make me a canvas truck cab tilt for my 107" when I have got all the other jobs done on it that require doing . Again this will be a special as they were not produced by Land Rover at the time .
