Hello,

I've thought for the past couple of days that my 2.5 N/A smelt a little fumy inside, but today my back box has decided to part from the long middle pipe. As far as I am ware, my 2.5 N/A does not have any form of CAT converter, just two silencer boxes? So technically, my 90 should get through its MOT emissions wise even with just a straight down exhaust? I am not one for understanding exhausts and what I am and am not allowed so I would like a little advice please!

1) Do I have to have the back box, or could I do away with the whole thing and have a straight down exhaust that exits under the passenger door with just a single box?

1) How much would it cost me to have a new bit of pipe fitted, starting at the back box, finishing above my rear mud flap?

2) Where can I buy cheap exhaust parts?

3) Are there any other options!?

NOTE: I've just had a look on Paddocks, and they're **** cheap. Looks like they just bolt together without any welding too, is that right?

yep just buy a new box from paddocks for prob bout £20 and bolt it on, its a 1/2hr job tops and thats if the bolts are bein stubborn
 
lookin at the diagram on the first link, is it NRC8889 that is broken? if so get that!

i dont know what the second link is , looks like its just the tailpipe without a built in silencer.
 
itl come with a couple of metal hooks on it which are a tight fit but will fit into the rubber supporters (i dont know the proper name?>!) that hang off your chassis/ rear crossmember
 
All of those have dropped off on mine, so I have to make do with lots of washers! Thanks again :)
 
New exhaust rubbers are dirt cheap and they will allow some movement, which stops the exhaust from flexing on the welds and breaking prematurely.

Dude. Call them up and give them your chassis number. Then they will make sure you get the right parts. Also ask them for all the parts you need i.e. rubbers/clamp. They are dirt cheap. If you dont used the rubbers your landy will vibrate like fook!!:eek:

Thanks, that may be the cause of my breakage its self. The exhaust has no rubber mounts anywhere in line! It will have by the weekend mind.

It did vibrate like hell, but I will get it fixed!
 
Buy some spare ones an tiewrap em to the chassis somewhere so you've got em when you need em.
