ok 8 weeks and counting from ordering a genuine fuel tank cradle from Land Rover - delivery unknown - and its holding up my rebuild big time.

Does anyone know if a td5 rear tank protector guard is a direct replacement for a cradle or if its used in addition? Hopefully the former.

a ****ey thin pressed metal support that the plastic fuel tank sleeps in if it wants to remain attched to the chassis. And Landrover dunt have any in the whole universe even though its a current part for a current vehicle. ****s

:)
Hi Muddy
Dont know if this weill help but i did once see a 90 fitted with a tank guard and also a discovery that i was gona to buy and both mounted over the tank and did not support it in anyway. Did not know the name or make of either.

a black smith?? get yer arse down to b&q and buy some flat bar and some 3/8" nuts and bolts

I fell out with the local fabricators since I questioned how it took 5 hours labour to bend a 2mm sheet of mild steel 90 degrees and cut a few bolt holes out of it. Still not paid em and if they insist its their ****ey bit of metal till I pays them they can have the already well rusting £180 "fabrication" back.

Hey Boner - glad it went well!

Slob - I'm trying to keep it looking like an "in factory" special vehicle, so trying to use genuine or at least well made bits - me and metalwork and B&Q dunt go well.
