 Please can someone help me, I have a 1988 Range Rover Vogue SE 3.5 V8 and it is the 16 gallon tank, the smaller of the two that would have been fitted as standard which, I have jast had a new fuel tank fitted, and the problem that I have is that the fuel gauge is giving me a false reading.
I have ran out of fuel three times now, when the gauge is still reading between quarter and half, is their anything that I can do to rest so that I can get the propper reading from the gauge?

It maybe that the float arm was bent when tank was changed, and is resting on the bottom of the tank with the tank empty, giving a false reading. The float should be just off the tank bottom when empty is shown on gauge giving a slight reserve. Only way to reset a bent float arm is with an empty tank unfortunatly.
