Hi Disco, unfortunety you will have to remove the tank cos theres no inspection plate in the rear boot on the 38a. Faffy and can be expensive, may be a job for the local Landy garage, soory Bazz.

If all is well its a 2 hour job, i did it 3 times, like the man says its faffy and you could do without the agro, needs 2 of you in an ideal world, if your wallets bulging then pay the man, if not try and borrow a ramp!! off my head the pups £150 ish

I have just recently had to replace the pump on my 4.6. I cut an access panel out behind the rear seats under the carpet. the pump can then be easily changed. in 5 minutes. just cut the access flap out on 3 sides , bend the flap back, then when you are done bend it back and seal it up with silicone and ducktape. replace the piece of carpet that needs to be cut over the flap voila whole job 30 minutes. As it is under the rear seats it does not show that any thing has been done when the seats have been put back to their upright position.
pump price is £79.49 + £9.00 postage from island 4x4. click on this link.

Like Datatek said, there is an excellent write up with pictures and measurements somewhere.
