Mine's a 1988 and I lifted the boot floor by knocking the heads off the rivets. Couldn't drop the tank because the tow bar stays are in the way and there is no way the tow bar assembly would come off.
Pete
Good point Pete. I forgot about the tow bar assembly. I ground off the nuts/bolts holding the towbar on and got it out of the way. They're easy to reach and not many of them. Got some new ones and that was another good job done.
Just thinking cutting four easy to reach bolts off is easier than knocking christ knows how many rivets off in the boot? Each to their own though, whichever way you want to do it, both give the same result in gaining access to the fuel pump.
