Hi All,

Had the AA out today and looks like i need to replace the fuel pump. RR was a little chuggy on start earlier then came back to it 3 hours later and wouldn't turn over. The AA chap gave the fuel pump a bash with a rubber mallet and managed to get home on it. Been out to fill up with LPG and Petrol and had the chugging issue again but flipped to LPG and it stabilised.

I was wondering what sort of ££ I'm looking at to have this changed. Ive only owned it for a month, so I've not found a garage to trust the RR with. My local is Guy Salmon in Thames Ditton, ? Any recommendations for a local garage to Surbiton thats not going to rip me off?

Any input much appreciated,
Will

Read my How To in the Technical Archive section, simple and cheap fix....

If you're going to use a garage drain the tank. Nothing worse than getting a vehicle that has been topped off before the customer brings it in.

Is a simple fix to get the pump out and either do as I did and replace the pump itself with one from an X5 o replace the whole unit.....

X5 pump is about £150 ( maybe less now) or the whole unit at £300 odd....

If i was mechincialy minded then i might take a stab at this but I'm not. So have called the AA to tow it to a garage in Ashford (Ashtead, not Ashford), Surrey called Moonwhizz that seem like a good local place and specialist - http://www.moonwhizz.co.uk/land-rover-certified-technicians.html

Does anyone have any experience of them? Guy Salmon Thames Ditton were talking in excess of £1200 and weeks to fix due to bookings, which as ever feels like a main dealer rip off.

Thx
Will

Doh! Yep Ashtead, Ashford would be a bit far ;) Do you know those guys Saint.V8?
Not through my experience, but heard them mentioned before...

Their website seems a couple of years out of date i.e. their Special Offers were from 2013!

But according to Companies House, they are up to date with their accounts filing etc so are not in trouble from that respect!
