Which fitting did you use to connect the plastic pipe to the 5/16 rubber?

I used a nylon straight barbed hose to hose connector.

I have brass ones to replace it with, but I have some clear inline fuel filters now. I think one of these will be a better long term solution.
 
@border here are some photos to help with the fuel lines.

First photo you can see both lines coming from the tank. The feed has the clear tube going to the lift pump, the return goes to the FIP.

Second photo shows a closer view of the FIP from above. This is the return connection to the tank. It could be what is snapped in one of your photos, but that could also be the rear tank return connection.

Last photo shows the connection from the injector back to the FIP. This is a hard nylon on mine, but if it ever gets a hole in it, I will replace it with the same tube as the leak off pipes. It’s cheap enough to pick up a meter at a local motor factors.

Let me know if you need any other photos of it. We could sort something out where I could pop up and have a look at what you have, and see what’s missing/extra. Sorry for late reply, Came in to a leaking combi boiler tonight, no chance of me fixing it, it needs a spare part, gonna get someone out tomorrow to take a look, Wife's on nightshift so in on my own bloody freezing.
Anyway Thanks for photos, got a bit more idea now.
I'm up there just about every night so your welcome to pop up Anytime, could do with a professional eye on it to tell me exactly which bits I need to get.

Well Boiler fixed had no heat or hot water for 2 nights but back to normal now, just out of pocket a bit.
Mu Injection pump looks the same as yours Mick but lift pump is different. Think my original fuel lines need cutting a to mix and match the 300tdi. still not sure where some pipes lead to.

The injection pump should look the same, but if you have a 300tdi, the lift pump will be different to mine.

I think so long as the fuel pickup pipe connects to the lift pump input, the lift pump output connects to the fuel filter, and the fuel filter output connects to the FIP input, then your fuel delivery side should be ok, so long as you have no leaks.

The return should be a simple, so again you should be ok.

Number 4 is the smaller banjo but it leads right round the other side where turbo is, not sure if it has to go there but looks like it has been shaped to do so.
What goes on to munber 5 ?

The only pipe that goes from the turbo to the FIP, is used to increase fuel delivery as boost increases. It wouldn’t need removing to remove the engine, so shouldn’t need anything doing to it now.

Looking at the second photo. Is 3 and 5 the same union?

Just going back over the numbers again:
1 - fuel filter out to FIP in
2 - lift pump out to fuel filter in
3 - injector leak back to FIP (the union should be connected to number 5
4 - FIP to turbo (boost control for fuel delivery)
5 - fuel return to tank (should be connected to number 3 too)

This is the back of my injection pump. The banjo bolt you can see is connected to the plastic return pipe from the injectors, and then heads rearwards as a steel pipe. This is then connected to the return line back to the fuel tank.

Edit: that would make 3 and 5 connected on your photos. 5 will still need to go back to the tank.

Im sure there is 2 different unions, will try and take better pics tonight.
I really need to have a look at a running 300tdi to see exactly where they go .
 
Are you certain it’s not the same union? I will double check on mine, but I’m quite sure they are one connector.

I think whats confusing me is the smaller Banjo on the end of my return pipe, Don't know why its there for as the only place it will fit is from FIP round to Turbo but I already have this one on. Plus the pipes already on mine are thinner then my return pipe.

The last photo is for turbo boost pressure to increase fuel delivery as boost pressure rises. This doesn’t want a fuel line fitting.

Is pipe number 3 fitted between turbo and FIP or FIP and injectors?

There shouldn’t be a single pipe that connects the turbo, FIP, and injectors together.

I would pipe it up as mine is.

I would heat the tube, push it over the metal pipes, then use a fuel clamp on the joins.
