Could one of you clever chaps tell me what this in the photo. I have fuel leaking from it and wondered if it was a gasket? cheers in advance.

Morning! Looks like your fuel injection pump,I do believe they have a seal of some sort on the top, but im sure one of the experts can confirm.:)

Yes there is a rubber seal in there. Easy to replace on that item. Not so easy on the next layer down which should not be disturbed if it is not leaking. If you don't know what you are doing it will give you a world of pain.

just to clarify, the seam that the arrow is pointing to is the one with the rubber seal? cheers for your patience but my knowledge of engine block and fuel system is quite poor.

Yes, that one is easy to change, but there is also another one further down that if you don't know what you are doing is not so easy.

hoping its the easy one. do i search for FIP rubber gasket or are there more than one on the pump?

Easy to do but only bug bear is the security socket i cut a slot in mine then loosen it with a few taps of a impact driver .
