Only just joined the forum, bought a defender 90 this week! Loving it so far!!
It’s a v reg td5 but has a slight diesel leak which is dripping off the back of the engine.
Had a look on the net etc and seen the fuel pressure regulator is situated about where it’s dripping so guessing it’s a fault there. Is it a regular fault they have? Guessing it could be fuel lines onto it as it only leaks when it’s running above idle speed.
Getting it up on the ramp later in the week and hoping to do it there and then. Worth getting a new regulator or more likely just a clip??
Cheers

Excellent! I’ll get one ordered. Genuine or not? Seen some for £75 and genuine seem to be £125 ish???
Do you know if it’s a big job? I’m not too bad on the tools but generally leave it to someone else if it’s a big job or particularly hard.

One of the great things about Landy ownership is the vast amount of information out there for pretty much every job, have a quick search of these forums, give google a good flogging and throw in some Youtube amnd you'll see if its a job you could tackle.

If you know which end of a spanner to hold there's only a few jobs that'll be out of your reach.

ive done very many and its quite easy on a defender, get genuine if possible, you need a 14mm open ended spanner for the pipes a 10mm socket etc for the 3 securing bolts and it helps to remove switch first and fit last its 19mm, once off theres a fat o ring in head behind that is a metal gauze filter

Sounds pretty easy, should be able to manage that I reckon! Easy to do laying under it or is it definitely a job on a ramp?

Cheers for all the help and advice!!

Done the same job a few times quite easy, you would be better off going for genuine part, freind of mine fitted the cheaper option only lasted a month, got his money bacl but it took a couple of months

Had a better look at it today, looks ok to get at etc. Luckily bro in law work at Land Rover dealer so a new one will be here Tuesday. Might have to be a bit nicer to him now!!
