Hi I have td6 2003 rr vogue drove car other day started fine runs fine does not cut out no smoke from rear if you want to go above 3500rpm it gets lumpy and struggles if you back off from throttle and then carry on it picks up and continues I have been told it's the in-line pump under cover on passenger side when laying underneath with ignition on you can hear a trickle like a running tap coming from fuel tank tank has 1/4 tank
So I am just wondering if this is the cause in line pump
Secondly it has hot start issue car starts from cold no issue start straight after u switch off no issue
If left for 5 mins just cranks then will eventually start
Car has been plugged and no fault codes have come up
Mate thinks it the in line pump as that won't throw up any fault code he's not certain

Today changed the in line pump after a struggle as pump must of failed rr wood not start thinking raise suspension and drive up on ramps for a bit extra room
In end ended up dropping big plastic cover after taking off of chrome step as working on pavement side so made access difficult in end did it clips weren't plastic but metal not jubilee clips they are now marine grade so I could get them tight
Started rr up put on ramps took 1/2 hour to put back together 3 hrs to strip out due to access
Didn't have a jack as Mrs lent it to her friends other half
In end all done everything is fine
But still have hot start issue not as bad at moment

I'm thinking of getting diagnostics looked at hawkeye and lynx what do people recommend

For diagnostics, Nanocom.

what year is it? Older diesels shouldn't need the hot start fix.
 
I'd be inclined to change the crank sensor. See if it is cracked or any swarf on the tip (you need to remove it to check this).

Leak off pipes are small rubber (usually) hoses inter connected between injectors and lead back to the tank. Basically, the fuel is fed to each injector under pressure and any unused (not injected) fuel is "leaked off" back to the tank. A leak from one of these will be very obvious.

The crank sensor is a magnetic sensor placed either at the flywheel to count the rpm of the engine. There is a point, usually when No1 piston has reached top dead sensor and each time it does this it counts as a revolution of the crank. It basically tells the ECU that the engine is turning and at what point it should fire. They can get really complicated, but that is it in a nutshell. In the Citroen C4 I just repaired, the sensor is on the front pulley! Not too sure about the L322, but I should imagine it will be on the left side of the engine, at the back near the bell housing...all being normal that is :rolleyes:
 
Yep, I think allcoms is for his and there are others. @Saint.V8 suggested a couple when I was toying with upgrading to an L322. The later canbus ones can use nanocom.

Can I still use nanocom or would I need something else. Rough guide on price if I need something else. Nanocom only works on the post 2006 vehicles, for 2002-2005 there are a few options, chiefly the All Comms (£200 odd )from RSW, IIDTool by GapDiagnostics (£250 odd), Hawkeye (£275 odd), or Lynx (£??).
 
You can add the iCarSoft 930(??) to that list too...never used, had good reports though.

just an update
I did a leak off test and test showed that injector one {closest to front of rr } was very faulty leak off was like a water fountain
which im glad as easiest to get at
just wondering if I buy a recon injector does it have to be recoded and calibrated to work or is it a straight swap

hi fitted reconditioned injector today seems to have solved the hot start issue
just awaiting new air compressor to solve suspension issue see other thread for details cheers
