I had a delivery today, the adapter kit for that dial gauge :) I did order a locking kit for the pump that did most of the bmw engines for £36 from Poland but they cancelled the order as due to virus and staff shortages they are not sending stuff abroad :(

I got the very same from ebay a few months ago. I ain't used it yet, I'm still within limits on my modulation but I'll need it for my chain swap one day.

My modulation is about 72 so i am trying to work out which way to go reseal my pump in situe and tap it round a bit knowing the pump is on its way out as the injector light comes on some times when you lift off
Swap the pump for my unknown spare
or send spare pump for rebuild and swap along with new chains and not have to worry ever again, thats the best but funds are not there atm and the way its looking i wont be working for a while.

I get you, start saving for the seal kit first of all. Then reseal the upper and lower cap and the pump head. Most if the time these are the seals that go quite regularly.
Then if you move the pump towards the block to improve the starting you will make it so much better very quickly. Then just slowly save for the chain kit and pump rebuild if you do wish. I'd love to have the engine out and do the shells and so on but in reality the engine will stop running before that's ever done. So do the immediate work and save for the rainy day. :D

To be honest 72% doesn't sound that bad. Not ideal, obviously.

Injector light coming on when lifting off and stalling does though. Is the lift-pump shoving enough fuel through?

Mil lamp flashing on lift off is a fuel quantity servo fault.

From memory if the injector light comes on when you lift off the the fuel solenoid is knackered, alas wammers is no longer with us but if you search his posts ref injector light you will find it.

injector light normally comes on when the pump is timed wrong it needs to be set at a certain degree depending on many miles the engine got with out look at looking at Rave I couldn't tell you

Wammers used to say impending doom of the fuel quantity servo in the pump , its life could be extended by upping the idle a little but pump rebuild on the cards:(
