Back earlier in the year not long after I got my TD4, one of the fuel hoses split in the engine bay because it was unclipped and the extra friction caused it to perish after time. This caused fuel to leak from the hose and I could see a spray of fuel coming out of the right wing while driving.

My question is, if this was petrol would it have resulted in a fire? The entire engine bay was engulfed with fumes.
