I have a TD5 and the fuel flap release mechanism has the plastic clip mounted in the bracket, but nothing to keep it orientated, this then results in the flap being easily opened by pressing the end. Is there a spring attached to the plastic clip to maintain the pressure on the solenoid release pin, ?

If the plastic clip breaks at the back where it presses in, then it spins and dont hold the door properly, common problem, a new clip needed, but I would recommend you buy a couple as they can even break fitting the new one!!. Look on ebay, they are really cheap.
