Re The water sensor on the bottom of the Disco 2 fuel filter

Can i remove this and bridge the wires safely?

Nearly had a stroke at the price of a new one. so was thinking of plugging the hole with the plastic unit that come with a new filter, and just bridging the wires

unless discos are different to other vehicles, just leave it unplugged.
every other vehicle I have seen its a N/O circuit, that closes then water is detected (by whatever method

Mine cracked,it's only made of plastic,it's been disconnected with no problems.
you can however get them on flea bay about £20.00 if you feel you need it.
My garage said it will be ok without it.

Blimey !!, they,re about £18.00 !.

As has been said, you can just leave it unplugged and stuff a bolt and rubber washer up there.
