Play time in the snow was curtailed yesterday by
a) Lack of snow
b) inability to put petrol in the bloody thing

I know about the string thats meant to be behind the little flap but I couldnt see it in the quick look I had last night. Will have a better poke about today. If for some reason its not there, presume I can get to the mechanism by taking the trim panel off in the boot??

When i pressed the release button on the dash the button hs stayed "depressed" - bit like me. Is that what is meant to happen?

The button on the dash should spring back up. The springs inside do give up the ghost.
Yes, get the trim panel off and you can just flick the clip and the flap will pop open.

The push button falls apart, take the binnacle off and you may be able to clip it back together.

Careful with removing / refitting the binnacle. The top brackets tend to snap - cheap brittle plastic.

Happened to me about 3 years ago : I just took the trim off, pushed switch back up,.... and stuck a bit of foam rubber under it.
Prob has never repeated.

cheeky

I justust run it on lpg. The initial start up is on petrol but as soon as the temp gauge moves out of the blue she changes over to lpg.

I filled it up in September and she's still on over 3/4 full.
Pleased to say she's running sweet as a nut, just turned over 101,000 miles (I got her at 78,000 in June 2011)

must say it's the best vehicle I've ever owned and I still smile when I hear the lovely v8 burble and often drive with the stereo off (it does work tho') just to hear the noise

You do realise that with that much weight of petrol in the tank, you will be using a lot more gas than you need to. Why not just use the petrol and carry four bags of cement in the boot. :D:D

Seems odd to me - why buy a full tank of fuel if you are going to use it at such a slow rate??

I fill my tank to the brim every week, but I use a full tank in 6 days??

I make sure i never let my petrol tank get too close to empty but put £20 in every month to top up. Filling up with LPG is another story...about £80 a week. Still cheaper than running a diesel though :D

£80 a week

that would make me cry!!! I'm spending around £50 with home made bio and a few litres of pump petrol (12 Ltr) to fill my Diesel tank to the brim

Three quarters of a tank, 75 litres, around 16.5 gallons weighs around 118 pounds or about 53 Kilos. Toting that around is using more gas than he needs to. That added to the weight of his gas tank and gas is giving him far less MPG that is possible to achieve if he ran with minimum petrol on board. Just an observation.

I only put al lof mine in the tank in 1 go as I've no where elese to store it and I need to empty the processor ready for the next batch. if I didn't have to I wouldn't carry so much fuel becuase of the weight! if you've ever filled your tank using 5 20litre jerry cans you will know just how much weight you have added!!
