Hello,

Bought a fuel filler pipe to replace a rusty one on my 90.

It has a different cap fitting though and I don’t know the age cap needed.

Anyone have an idea of what will fit?

I would agree with @mick 1986 and @Oldseadog about the style of cap but heck if the tank is vented. There are two different versions of this one vented and one not. I managed to collapse a fuel tank when I replaced a vented cap with a non vented one!

Hello,

Thanks for the help - ordered a new cap.

The pipe does have a return (guessing vent) in the side, just can’t see it in this picture.

That’s ok right?

I would recommend a veted cap,, otherwise you can develop enough of a vacuum to potentially damage the tank, the fuel filter and the low pressure fuel pump.
The pipe that comes half way up the filler tube is so that air can be displaced from the tank whilst it's being filled.
Just sayin'

You can indeed. Thankfully I didn’t damage the pump but I did buckle the tank that even when then pressurised to blow it back to shape never fully recovered!
