I've got a 95 110 300tdi. It has got more checker plate and other **** bolted to it than is strictly necessary. As a result I measure gallons to the mile. If I tried really hard not to thrash it everywhere and took off all the extraneous crap I'd be happy to get 25-28 mpg

Read the original post....he's got a td not a 300tdi. Mid 20's max.what mine does. Though I am starting to try a hydraulic/diesel mix

Got 18 mpg out of mine... that was with General At2, no mods or roof racks..
And feathering that throttle like a bitch!
Altho it runs up and down yorkshire hills everyday..
