First frost of the year and luckily I remembered to defrost the rear riper, because sure as eggs are eggs it will come on when you reverse it will stick the wiper to the door and damage something.

i just sparked it up switched on the front and rear heated screens (oh and the heated seats too :D) and by the time a cleared the 2 side windows all was warm and snug :rolleyes::D

edit: fook sorry did'nt notice i was in the gaylander forum doh! was talking about me tractor :D

Freelanders have heated windows and seats too. :p
You know you want one. You wouldn't be on the Freelander forum if you didn't.
 
The washing up liquid I smeared the inside of the windscreen with to stop it misting up worked a treat and no ice on the inside.

Poured warm water on the outside to remove the ice and hey presto ... the inside iced up.
Cant win.:(
 
turned engine on, with full heat on screen and heated rear window. by the time I'd scraped the ice off the wife's car, mine was ready to go and toasty warm.

just as well, 'cos she's had me gloves away and hidden them !

Isn't that dangerous ? Pouring warm water on a cold windscreen ? Understand there is a risk is breaking the glass like that ??
 
Pouring water from the cold tap on the wind screen will also defrost it straight away. Remember to use the wind screen wipers to clear the water, or it'll freeze again.
 
I can't wait for a frosty mornin, just traded my 1997 Xedi for a TD4 with a heated screen, I loved my old one to bits but the TD4 is from another universe by comparison!
 
Sorry matey, it's a 2004 facelift TD4 Premium, awesome spec compared to my L Series Montego engined Xedi Freelander diesel!!!!!!!!
 
Geezz!!! I am glad I don't have to go through all that defrosting stuff every morning, I have the opposite problem, "How to keep it cool inside when the outside temperature reaches 40oC". But I tell you what, high temperatures are not pleasant either, makes the old A/C in the FL1 work hard.:):)

Are you aware of the water circuit mod that you can do to the L series (apologies if you do)? Basically reconfiguring a couple of hoses engine side of bulkhead to introduce the heater matrix into the block water circuit thus getting virtual instant heat in the cockpit. I never got around to doing it to mine but I weighed it up and it looked very straightforward with no detrimental effects other than the engine taking a few nano seconds longer to achieve running temp!

Chain cam versus rubber band - no contest.
Assume as it's premium you have sat nav, criuse, etc. Go easy on the sunshine roof, the drive is very poor.
 
Nope, no satnav or cruise, well not found one yet anyway!
I wore the sunroof out on my last one, I recall the repair was costly but not exactly something you can leave bust!!:)
