Hi again my p38 has decided to turn the front wipers on and the windscreen washer when turning the ignition on also does the same every now and again when driving...got a nice clean windscreen...any thoughts

Burning smell in under bonnet fuse box? Wet underlay in drivers foot well? Broken wire to stalk?

Are the front wipers free to move and "parking" properly? Been known to cause issues when they don't stop all the way home.

None of the above unless broken wire to stalk will get it checked

Wipers move freely and park....when driving sometimes just the washer squirts water continuously until the stalk is moved to operate wipers...??

In the absence of any exact help, I would change the stalk for a known good one.

Exorcism?
Sounds like the whole wash/wipe unit has failed, but I think that is very unusual.
