Anyone seen a front tow ball fitting kit available for RR Classic?
Or maybe just pictures of how it's done.

I'd like to fit two offset balls to the front of my Classic for Caravan manoeuvring.

I've also stumbled accross a couple of items that others may consider usefull ...

Hitching Aids for Trailers and Caravans at Westfalia Mail Order UK

OK, the second one is a bit expensive for what it is, but the idea is so easily copied. Couple of bits of GI wire with magnets soldered on should suffice, methinks?

Ive fited a rearview camera
Its helped me impress so many folks when i reverse up to my caravan with the suspention lowered get under the tow hitch lift the suspension 'click' and drive forward lol
Helps with backing up in carparks, against bollards ect.. too

just got back from the States and it seems this is standard on most of their Ford 4x4s. Care to share how, what, and where you got the bits and was it DIY or garage job. Would love one of these just to save the heated grunts when hitching up.

Cheers Nick, that one on E-Bay looks well modifiable.
I've placed my bid.

Bigeeeee. Yeah it was the Watling site that got me convinced on this.
They are pretty expensive though, and don't list one for a Rangie.

gf .. Yep that's the ultimate, but expensive answer I guess, but I'm also looking to use the front ball as a winch anchor for this ...

Thanks for the offer Dr E, but I've ordered the Westfalia one mentioned earlier. It's readily demountable so it can be used front or rear, and stored in boot.

What price you looking for? My son might be interested for his Defender. Is it just the winch, or does it have any mounting brackets with it?

Johnny.

Winch, mounting brackets, self locking bolts (think I still have them) and cable plus remote although one buttons damaged

Erm not sure, £45 posted ?

Don't really know how much it's worth but it'll cost me about £10 to post due to the weight

Walrus,
That camera system looks a lot better than the Chinese one CPC are offering. Much bigger screen and a lot cheaper too.

I've tucked it into my 'watching' file. Maybe for Xmas. I haven't actually bought a caravan yet, just working towards one for next summer.

Johnny.
