Hi again

Well the fuel problem is sorted ... I hope.

Got him home, bypassed sed bowl, drained tank. Refilled with dyno and he's starting and running fine now.

I get 300 yards from home, hit a speed ramp and there's a clunking noise coming from front left.

Had a look around and the bottom of the front suspension strut is disengaged from the flange.

Wiggled strut to line up with hole and the end dropped through about an inch. No thread showing. Looked at the good otherside and that end is a good inch or more lower than the problem one.

So ... how do I do this? It seems a simple ... get another washer and nut and refit? ... but how do I get the bottom of the strut through the hole enough to get some thread?

Thanks again guys

Oh and is it ok to drive it like this if I take it staedy so I can go and get a new spacer/washer and nut?

Size of nut please? Nylon threadlock?

yer fine - don't forget to empty all the brake fluid out as well

???

... and do you come from Sanday? The wife is from Sanday and says she knew a Sean who's Dad was builder/mechanic.

Edit ... lol ... sorry how ignorant of me to think there's 1 Sean in Orkney. The wife did come from Sanday where everyone knew everyone.

nope not me, Sanday is lovely, apart from everyone looking like each other (and there being more English living there now than ''locals'')

Do I just jack up under that flange to compress the spring and the thread will come through and then fit new washer and nut?

So just taking up some preload on the spring?

id try jacking .... yer then effectivly using maybe half the weight of the vehicle to compress the spring.,
