just about finished putting new A bar on front of car, all that is left to do is put it on, got myself 2 spot lights to go on, then wire em up, on the last car it had full Land rover spots and full fitted kit, worked ok 80% of the time, but had moments when the in-line box had it's moments!! i know you cannot source the fitting kit any more unless you find old stock! so just want a simple kit, but maybe to wire into the proper switch for the dash,(£45) anybody any ideas? or have done it, as would sooner have it all for when i finally get around to it!

Apologies for the hijack, but my spots on the A-Bar seem to work intermittently too. Sometimes I cannot get the switch on the dash to work..

mine played up so i rewired them the old fashioned way with a rocker switch on the dashboard and relay triggered by main beam cost me nothing as I nicked all the bits from a car being scrapped next door. The control box is an unnecessary and expensive complication which is unreliable. Mine work perfectly now suggest you rewire yours and do away with that control box (and save yourself £100 into the bargain!)

Have a look at this thread -http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/safari-5000-driving-lamps-wiring-diagram-203300.html

I've posted details of how to do-away with the expensive and unreliable 'control unit', replacing it with a standard automotive relay.

Doing this, requires the existing non-latching D2 Spotlights switch to be modified to a 'proper' latching on/off switch, which can be done for around a fiver, using a Puma Defender heated seat switch body :)

thanks! i actually found this fred after i posted it!! Very useful
