after abit of advice for a friend he has a r reg freelander and needs new front shocks, its allrdy been lifted 2 inch whats best brands to buy and whats a good rough price

The OE Delphi shocks work well and aren't that expensive. You're better off replacing all 4 though or the ride will be horrible. There's nothing worse than one end being nicely controlled by new shocks and the other bouncing away on an old set! ;)
Price wise OE from an aftermarket suppliers will be about £70 a corner.

Ditto, I would change all four also to keep the ride even. I fitted ProComp which have worked well for me. They give a softer more comfortable ride. When heavily loaded you can feel it which I couldn't with the previous set. (Don't know what they were as they were well worn) The ProComp have also survived a trip across Morocco fully loaded and are still good to go again. Some people on here knock them but I can only speak as I find. One of the vehicles in our group that went to Morocco had new Terrafirma shocks, one broke.
