There is quite a lot of adjustment on the seat and steering wheel I’m not the tallest but can put the seat way too far forward on mine
I have a manually operated velour seat though

Of my 3 Discos, only one had a knackered seat base, and that must have been due to having a fattie owner.
But a mate of mine, also with short legs, finds driving his Disco a long way tiring on the thighs. So I suggested he take the base apart and cut some of the foam away from where he pushes his thighs into it when driving, depressing the clutch etc.
He never did as he got rid of it, but you might want to consider it. Or else, yes, pedal extensions, or even a plank of wood underneath your heels so your foot has a higher pivot point.
But a 29" inside leg must be common for both men and wimmins so I think it might be summat else. (It is only one size down from mine for instance.)

39" leg here..

The P38 is far more comfy than any other 4x4 I know of... :D

Even my 5ft nothing sister can drive it no problem :D

I have 29" inside leg and have the seat one notch back from all the way forward and also have it quite high as the wife is a lot lot shorter so she can see over the dash,
I also have put a block of wood on the throttle pedal and have some of those rally style pedel plates to help her and find it very comfortable
Our bmw e91 has 2" extentions on all pedals so she is sitting a bit further away from the wheel and when the seat is in her position the headrest touches the roof:rolleyes:

never figured out why the laydees like to be 3" from the steering wheel, I asked once and said any further away and can't reach the pedals. I looked and the knees were near 90 degrees

Hate to think what would happen if the airbag went off!

I have a mate at work who is 5ft7 and 18st needless to say, his driving position is rather amusing :D;)

It is the only way my wife can drive being only 4'7" when looking at motors the first thing is can she actually reach everything and she always has to have a cushion or two as well, I really should disable the air bag.

I'm 5'7" also with 29" legs, but I can reach the pedals fine with the seat nowhere near fully forward. Try adjusting the seat back angle & height a bit.

Bigger issue is reaching down into the engine !! Wife wont drive it because she says "I don't like all the uppy & down-ness, in case it goes wrong"
