hi guys im 200 miles away from home and my front prop on my defender td5 has broke off i can repair myself when i get home but is it ok to drive in 2wd with the front prop off the defender or will i get severe windup

engage difflock and drive as far as you want,once damaged prop is removed
 
You will not get any wind up as the diff will be locked and both sides will be turning at he saem rate. (Wind up occurs when there is an imbalance and the diff spins but cannot release itself)
Remove the prop entirely and engage diff lock, as long as you drive considerately this will cause no issues.
 
Windup will only happen if you drive in diff lock with both props on, so you are fine to go on, just take it easy on the throttle as all the drive load is now going to the remaining axle.
