They haven't seen grease in a long time. :eek: were the UJ's greasable?? I:E did they come with a grease nipple. and are you 100% certain that you have been using the right size UJ's and that the circlips have been seated properly with no gap between circlip and Bearing cap.

3 times in a year that is 4 month old or less:rolleyes:
 
Exactly same as happened to mine if you recall my thread about britpart ****. Rear prop sheared off completely at the yoke, was totally bone dry even though I had greased it liberally before I put it on and also two months in. Was only fitted for four months before it collapsed
 
Have you made sure that the propshaft is free to slide and that the sliding section is nearest the Transferbox?? (Not that orientation should make that much difference)

after every green lane where you encounter mud, water, or go fording they need a shot of grease after you have finished, like next day or two
 
Grease can't just disappear :confused: either it's getting thrown off the prop whjen it spins. In which case it'll be visible on the underside of the Landy. Or it's not getting Past the grease Nipple when you tried to fill it. You should see the grease ooze out past the dustcaps when you grease a UJ.
 
I don't believe them have ever been greased I think Britpart ones need filling up as soon as you fit them Iat a guess you need to buy a grease gun and use it!
 
Britpart shafts are not great (many other ways) but they should be perfectly fine on a road going non modded motor aslong as you are fitting them and greasing them. My britpart ones were fine and they got abused weekend in weekend out but always re greased almost weekly
 
Will get the more pics tomoz... Was a lil rusty ans it was dry as a bone but i greased it two months ago and its only 5 momths old from new

Never took mine off road, no green laning, no fording. Was just driving to work and back. They were properly greased, I know how to grease UJs :rolleyes:. It's just that britpart are ****. My front prop is original from the looks of it and I haven't changed the UJs since I've had the motor and that's been perfectly fine. If you can find my thread its got pics of the yoke which had sheared. Was not a spot of grease on it and it was only 4 months old, no idea where the grease went but I can assure you I definitely put plenty in. I believe the OP did too so agree with him on the ****ness of britpart. Wouldn't buy three in a row though :confused:

only way they last, grease is your best tool in the box if you use it right. Grease is cheap maintenance. Why do you think farmers and construction equipment is greased every 8 hours when in use, and water and oil checked after every break during the day.

his yoke did not shear was uj failure. brit part does sell good parts. Just have to watch what you get you want cheap you get cheap you want oem you can get oem from brit part. you want timkin wheel bearing and seal brit part sells them, Just got to be smart enough to ask for oem and not be worried with price. Parts store sell cheap and oem same thing.
 
Britpart suupply parts some a very poor quality some are very good quality. The price is usually a key ingredient into whats good and whats not. I have had no issues with britpart supplied UJ's nor propshafts on std motors. the props do have a down side they do not have nowhere near the same angle as original units had especially the older RRC high angle jobbies. This in no way will cause premature failure like the pic. I have had UJ's where only one cup gets grease but this was noticed and cured before fitment.
