is there a way i can improve my lights i drove the other night in dark and they were crap almost as if they wernt on

Replace the sealed beams with Halogen conversions (@£30 a pair for decent make ones)

Make sure all wires are good and earths are clean and secure

Rewire the lights using relays to avoid voltage drop

Check the earths -

Make sure the reflectors are 'bright' any major rust get new ones -

Get yourself a set of Osram 'Nightbreakers' - they're awesome ...

freeform crystal lamp units with xenon bulbs.... omg what a difference... like driving a modern car

cheers steve

Or add some driving lights switched with the main beam - although it will get a bit dark on dip.

Driving lights are a good idea the standard Lucas are not very bright but poor wiring, bad earth, dirty switch all add up to make it worse a relay is a good idea. I fitted one on my beams and it made a world of difference. IMHO dipps shouldn't be all that bright - please don't get Xenons they are just blinding for everyone else!

Xenon light owners should be made to weld without a mask.
i cannot drive at night because of thase bast**d blueish lights.
all good advice. Buy new and put together properly.

Measure the volt drop on the wiring to the lights and replace if more than half a volt, check power and earth wiring. also as stated above fit some better lights.
