I can get my Disco to shack side 2 side just blipin the gass pedle !
Anyway you can get some one to video the outside (wife view) while you blip the throttle or pull off etc?
I definitely have the handbrake off. I have jacked up each corner and no binding brake. The rear left possibly a little stiffer than rear right but not bad. Will open the drum and inspect this weekend. One thing that I now think is connected is that if I brake hard while driving and the weight shifts to the front, the car quite dramatically pulls right. If I progressivey apply the brakes, ie let the front end load up then brake hard the car brakes in a perfect straight line. So something is not right with the weight transfer across the chassis by my reckoning?
Not sure if we need to see his wife videoing him pulling off?
But pics and vids are always helpful.
You absolutely sure that all 4 pistons will in the left hand calliper are actually moving evenly when the brake is pushed? I.e extending by the same amount.
This particular ‘pulling to the right’ symptom still sounds like a brake issue to me
On a safe place (car park etc) do an emergency stop from a moderate speed (10mph or so) with your hands off the steering wheel and see what it does.
If it massively pulls to the right then there is a problem with your front left brake. If it tries to spin you round then both your front brakes are shot and the rears are doing all the work.
Standard Britpart springs are good, and cheap.
The pulling has gone since cleaning the calipers and drums. I was putting 2 and 2 and getting a chicken there.
I think you've got this, but as you are new to your Landy I'm going to take a chance on coming across a bit cheeky. Your handbrake operates a drum brake on the gearbox and does not act on the wheels. You don't want to be pulling the handbrake on before you've come to a stop and don't want to be pulling away with it still on a tad.I definitely have the handbrake off.
