I have a land rover defender with a discovery front axel, the hub is knackered and needs replacing. Because we don't know the age of the axel (only that it came from a 200) I have been told (by the garage repairing it)there are 4 hubs it could be and until we find the age of the doner vehicle he can't order the part.
Could anyone tell me the difference between the 4 hubs and is there a generic hub. By the way, I don't have ABS or Brake pad sensors or any other fancy attachments.
Cheers

Hi
The Bearmach catalogue shows that there are only two type of hub fitted. If you download it from here Bearmach you should be able to see what type's fitted to you axle.

Thanks for the info Rich, I've not used Bearmach for parts before but there catalogue seems to be very good.
It also helps knowing the chassis number the engine came from. One day I my find out where all the parts come from.
Cheers

Look for a number stamped on the axle. Try looking between the diff and breather pipe.....
