Just got my landy roadworthy again! Yesssss! There is a clonk at front axle but absolutely no whinning from Diff. If its not whinning could it be the Halfshaft universal joints clonking. Clonking occurs on deceleration and acceleration (one clonk) Have replaced both front and rear propshafts so its not the joints on that, Did notice oil leaking from swivel housings on front too. Probly a rebuild allround! :mad:
 
I cured my clunk after much puzzling by tightening up the U bolts holding the leaf springs onto the axle (mine was rear) could be worth a look...
 
Check the castle nut holding the diff pinion bearing together mine was missing its split pin and had unwound itself...
