I have managed to do rear disk change last year and now need to do front disk and pads, is it as simple, any advice things to remember, its a td5 2001 es auto, many thanks

Pretty much the same method as the rear. Just make sure the mating surfaces of the hubs and discs are clean or you may end up with a brake judder.

More of an issue on the front as they do more work than the rears.

I change my front discs and pads last month. Quite easy but a couple of things to watch for / make life easier.
1). It would have been easier to have a tool to push the pistons back into the caliper together. I used a "G" clamp and a strip of aluminium to squeeze them back at the same time.
2). watch the caliper pins. My top one was slightly bent and I did not have a replacement pair. Subsequently, the caliper was not that free to centralise on the disc and ended up with a bit of brake squeal. I would recommend to replace these as well.
3). watch the fluid level as it gets pushed back when you squeeze the pistons into the caliper. It may spill over!!
4). Make sure you clean off all the protective "grease" off the new discs. Brake cleaner is good for this.

Cheers folks, will be attempting tonight as yeaterday had the dreaded `Three Amigo`s` drop by, which I hope to put right when changing disks etc.

One side done, fairly simple. Tried other side spent 45 mins trying to get wheel off, alloy had fixed to hub, gave up took to local garage who took 20 mins to free it, now its been wired brushed and some copper greased for me to do disc and pads later tonight.

Still have `three Amigos` showing ( ABS, TC and Hill Des lights) hope to check other disk tonight, chap at garage plugged his comp in and no errors showed which is pleaseing but what if nothing is obviouse how do i know which one is bust, is it just the front wheels these are on ?
