Hi guys as my post says I'vehad the front diff seal and bearing replaced and for about month Iit was ok , now it's started leaking again , is this a problem I will just have to live with or has the garage fitted it wrong , any ideas please, mick .

on the axle tube, its not that unusual for a new seal to fit if fitted correctly ,but it is easy for garter seal to drop off if tapping a new seal home

I take it the drive flange was in good condition ie.it wasn't worn where the seal lip makes contact ?
Thanks tomcat, don't know about that the garage said nothing but then again would they have known, that's the trouble I guess with garages doing the repair, thanks for all your advice guys , going to look into it when I have time , if a new diff assembly is required how much will I be talking any ideas , thanks.

Rebuild prices vary, around the £250 to £300 mark would get a fully refurbed diff. Removing the diff and changing a bearing without checking the condition of the flange seal contact area would not be indicative of a careful repair.
