Hi, just bought a range rover and I can see that the breather hose on the front diff is missing and oil is leaking out. Do anyone know were the hose should be connected? Is it ok too mount a hose with a one way valve and filter?

Thanks!

It shouldn't have a one way valve as the idea of the breather hose is to allow air inside the diff to escape as the oil heats up and expands and also, just as importantly, to allow air back in again as the oil cools and contracts. You don't say which Range Rover you've bought so I can't tell you where the breather hose should go but I've no doubt it's on Rave somewhere.

Sorry - was scrolling from post to post without going back to the forum itself and it doesn't show the L322 prefix so didn't see what type you had. No idea where the pipe goes to I'm afraid.

pipe is supposed to run from the top of the diff to up alongside the oilfilter housing and vents in the engine compartment, also top end of pipe curves over to prevent water going up ot if you do go too deep.
