I noticed my brakes were shot, thought from lack of use as its been laid up for a while , but no , leaking caliper,, look at the state of those pads!

So, I need a couple of calipers and a set of pads, anyone know the Pt Numbers? single pipe, four piston, multi spline bolts.

Any ideas on part numbers guys? I think its a 300tdi axle, or a Rangie or something, I will try and get a better photo of the other side.

Not sure when they last worked but during last winter now I know why I was doing 380 spins on the corners!

Quick squirt of brake cleaner, new pads and they will be good for another few thousand miles:eek:

I would refurb them rather than replace the calipers. Once yo know which caliper it is get some stainless pistons, stainless bleed nipples, GENUINE piston seals, and some gallery seals. Very straight forward job to do and once completed they will not need touching for a long time and no risk of seized pistons in the future. If you decide to go down this route I can give you some more detail on how to do it and see if I can find write up I followed.

I’ve just upgraded my defender see pics posted last week and I have the Calipers and brake pad and the pads have hardly any wear if your interested

They look like Discovery 1 pads, found out the hard way the Disco 1 axles and running gear are identical to 90/110/Defender... except the brake callipers
Could be a good excuse to fit some vented discs... ;) and do the wheel bearings at the same time.

The Disco 1 pads are smaller than the LR 90/110 ones. These are the ones I took off mine recently (they are Disco 1 pads) and the kit I replaced them with.

Give Bearmach a call and they'll be able to rattle off the different part numbers.

I might be interested in the calipers, can you get me a photo or two so I can match them up? I might not be too far from you, Im up in Suffolk.

Whassup wi the pads?Aw man, you've taken em out too soon. Your coshh assessment should have thrown up the asbestos risk.
Another coupla thousand miles would have seen that risk removed from the equation.
Try to be a bit more forward thinking in future.:);)

90 and disco used the same pads till 300tdi came then 90 used the larger 110 pads /calipers

See that's the problem, those pads would never have worn because the caliper wasn't working. Strangely it braked in a straight line.

Will post pics soon I hope not only of the calipers but also the pads, then you will know for sure.

Thanks suggsey but those are different to mine , I think mine are RTC4998 , can anyone confirm? I still need part numbers for the pads and the rigid pipe from flexy to caliper, my parts catalogue doesnt support these type of caliper, anyone have a catalogue that does?

Also guys does anyone know a supplier that could have these to me on Friday/Saturday?
