Hi everyone, I need to remove the front bumper on my 2007 L322 in order to fit a soft nudge bar and replace 2 parking sensors.

I have a set of removal instructions and diagrams but what I want to know is - Are there any hints, tips or advice I need to know in advance that the workshop manual does not prepare you for?

Many thanks

Soft nudge bar ?? For what ?

Pretty simple to remove. Best get help when sliding the bumper off the car so that you don't scratch it trying to struggle on your own.

Glad to hear that the front bumper should just slide off with a bit of help:)

My RR is not just a Chelsea tractor it needs beefing up for the following reason. I work in Sicily for 4-6 months at a time and the car comes with me. It's used on good roads, crap roads and for mild off road use. Rather than buy a defender 110 with no comfort or buy a Disco 3 or 4 and kit that out I'd rather keep my 2007 L322.

Whilst I am back in the UK I am making the following changes to the car for practical reasons:
1. I fill fit the largest profile Cooper LTZ tyres I can get for the 20" alloys.
2. I will cover the front and rear bumpers with the thickest colour coded vinyl wrap I can find to protect them from knocks and scrapes.
3. Fit lamp guards front and rear.
4. Fit the Range Rover soft nudge bar for pushing things out of the way like gates, branches and farm lane crap and to protect the front of the car from dicks who reverse into it and block me in - I can also use the nudge bar to push the offending motors out the way.
5. Cover the roof with a colour coded vinyl wrap to protect it from the inevitable knocks when loading the roof rack.

The only thing I am having second thoughts about are the lamp guards because I have to drill into the wings to secure them. The vinyl wrap can always be peeled off when the car is eventually sold.

So now you why I'm removing the front bumper. :)

I see now :)

Nice to see your wanting to try and keep your L322 protected :)

Wouldn't bother with the lamp guards TBH

They are only plastic, if you hit something big enough it will break both the guard and light anyway
I don't think they offer much protection
Mostly for looks me thinks ...

I didn't have to remove the bumper when I installed my Bull Bar....Had to drill though it mind...maybe the later model is different!!
