Firstly, did MOT put a 4wd on the rolling brake test?? If so they may have damaged the transmission.
if only 2wd then remove poor brake caliper and check piston and the sliding pins are all free to move. The pins particularly get seized. Don't put grease on the rubber sleeved pin as it will swell and seize further.
If pads are worn on one side only replace both sides with new at same time.

I think this is a very discusable subject and misunderstood.
If 1 side is low then its a caliper/disc/pad issue across axles, time to rebuild both sides.
But then I dont own a FL.

It's my understanding the rollers go in opposite direction so there is no or very little drive to the diff and therefore no or little attempt to drive the rear wheels and the vcu should be happy.
