Hi All I have been busy fitting up my new Marsland galvy 200tdi chassis for my 1992 defender. I have fitted up the front axle but it looks at a weird angle when the radius arms are in place. It looks as if it's pointing up to much meaning that the spring seats are not level. I have attached what's turns out to be a rather rubbish photo, but may give you an idea of what I am talking about.

Just doesn't look right to me, but this is the 1st one I have ever attempted!!! Not sure when the engine in that makes any difference?

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks James. Still learning as I go with this project, so anyone's advise helps loads.

Is it best just to put the springs on and when the engine is fitted they will level themselves out?

Because the spring seats are bolted to the axle they will tend to change their angle in relation to the axis of the spring as the axle goes up and down. Normally this can be accommodated by the flex of the spring and the flex of the shock absorber bushes. As James says, it'll sit a bit lower when you've got some weight in there.
