If that is the case that would explain why mine has never had anything at the front. You do not put self tappers through a galv chassis.I think that it should be held by two self tappers into the chassis though I've had a series where the apron was just trapped by the bumper at the front
Mine is the same as that but does not have the front screw fitted into the dumb iron. It works perfectly well like this and does not vibrate or rattle. So would say the screw is not essential if you do not want to drill into a new chassis.Mine has four mounting points. Two off the radiator panel on bent brackets and two tap directly into the dumb iron.
The bent welding rod is optional but I have a durty great spot lamp bolted to mine so it’s important I don’t botch it.Mine is the same as that but does not have the front screw fitted into the dumb iron. It works perfectly well like this and does not vibrate or rattle. So would say the screw is not essential if you do not want to drill into a new chassis.
Five batsThis is the bracket for the front panel, you'll need 2. http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listing/706/345192-FRONT-APRON-PANEL-BRACKET.html
It fits under the radiator panel and then the front panel sits on it. I'll be doing mine soon as it was converted to a Defender front end and I'm converting it back.
